Laser Frenectomy/ Tongue Tie Lip Tie Release

Cosmetic Bonding

Cosmetic bonding helps to recontour or reshape teeth. It might be needed for esthetic, orthodontic or trauma reasons.  It helps to improve the function and appearance of teeth.  The dental bonding material is a composite resin that sticks to the tooth when a special blue light is shined on the tooth. Bonding is one of the least expensive cosmetic dental techniques. The composite resin can be shade matched, contoured and mimic surrounding teeth to improve the appearance of a discolored, malformed or chipped tooth. The lifespan of depends on material used, technique and child’s oral habits. Emergency Dentistry

​If your child need urgent care, we respond during office hours and even after hours. We can guide you if treatment can be rendered next day or your child needs emergency treatment. Emergencies can range from tooth pain due to cavity or fracture or accidental situations. We are here for you!

Pulpotomy (Baby Root Canal)

A pulpotomy is a procedure used to repair and restore an infected baby tooth. Pulpotomies are different than "adult rooth canals" because in a "pulpotomy", most of the natural pulp is preserved. This procedure maintain the tooth roots and allows them to continue to grow and mature.

Dental Extractions

A dental extraction is the removal of a tooth. There are different reasons for teeth removal that include tooth decay, infection, orthodontic or esthetic purposes, trauma, extra teeth, over retained teeth or medical reasons.

Nerve Treatments

​Also know as pulpotomy, baby root canal. It is mostly done in cases where the nerve of tooth is compromised due to deeper caries, trauma or infection. The pulp space is cleaned and filled with medicament and the tooth is covered with a cap or filling to provide pain free remaining life span for the tooth. We ensure child’s airway is not impeding the sleep patterns, we evaluate for lip or tongue-ties that contribute to night grinding. Operculum is a piece of gum tissue or tissue tag that stays on the tooth's biting surface after tooth eruption. Canine Exposure

Orthodontics might require your child’s canine tooth to be exposed for bracket placement for proper eruption and alignment of teeth. At Metuchen Pediatric Dentistry we use laser for canine exposure and work as a team with your orthodontist in this teeth transition phase.

Mucocele Removal

Mucocele is cyst-like swollen spot in the mouth that contains mucus. They can be due to lip biting or trauma. They are mostly seen in children less than 20 years. Most often they appear on the inside of the lower lip. They are clear or bluish in color. Laser removal of mucocele at Metuchen Pediatric Dentistry can help with a good experience and optimal results.
